1. Silver Waterfall – Lao Cai Province

One of the best things that make Sapa a popular destination in Northern Vietnam is the Silver Waterfall. Lying beside National Highway 4D, the waterfall pouring down from the height of 200m looks like a giant white dragon descending from the sky. It is formed by sources of water from the Lo Sui Tong mountain peak. Just about 12km from Sapa Town’s centre, it takes around 30 minutes by motorbike or car to visit this beautiful waterfall. This waterfall is 30 m high and 300 m across, making it the widest waterfall in Vietnam. The majestic landscape in there will surely make any tourists falling in love. 3. Tac Tinh Waterfall – Lai Chau Province

Next, let’s take a visit to Tac Tinh, which is also known as the waterfall of love. It’s situated in Binh Lu commune, Tam Duong District, Lai Chau Province and started from the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range. The cascade has a height of about 100 m, falling down into a vast lake at the foot of the falls. Legend has it that there was a beautiful Dao ethnic girl falling in love with a guy in the same village. However, their love was forbidden so the girl left herself into the waterfall to demonstrate her love and keep the vows with her lover. Therefore, locals here named it “Love waterfall” to honor her. To have the most amazing view of the waterfall, you need to climb up for about 15 minutes. Additionally, taking a small path on the turquoise lake is a good way to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in there. On sunny days, you can have a chance to see the rainbow on the water surface.

4. Hang Te Cho Waterfall – Yen Bai Province

Situated in a remote village of Lang Nhi Commune, Tram Tau District, Yen Bai Province, this attraction is well-known as the most imposing waterfall in the Northwestern area of Vietnam. It looks like a huge silver thread flowing down from the top of the mountain. The way to this spot is not easy to reach because of many rocky roads full of gravel and mud. 5. Dai Yem Waterfall – Son La Province

About 5 km far away from the center of Moc Chau District, Dai Yem is ranked as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Northern Vietnam that you should pay a visit. To access this cascade, you have to walk through the woodlands and a small concrete road. On the way to there, you will see many majestic landscapes of highlands and friendly smiles of the locals. This 100 m waterfall has two branches, one has 9 steps and the other has 5 steps. The most suitable time to visit Dai Yem Waterfall is from April to October, when the volume of water pours much. If you want to see the mountain area, you can climb the top of the waterfall.
